I envy everyone who hasn't read this book yet because i would love to read it again fresh. Tahir is a good writer on any day but here, she is incredible. Noor and Sal are distinct characters but they show a decent amount of similarities that would show up from early childhood trauma and similar upbringings. This book contains a decent amount of trauma, and something will hit close to home for everyone. I cannot get over there depth of each of these characters, even Brook, who doesn't appear much.
This book is a slow burn love story and everything goes wrong and then everything rights itself again, but it doesn't feel like a forced happy ending. I wanted to step into Juniper to meet these people, but alas. This is a lovely story of emotion, pain, and forgiveness that is rarely found in any market, much less a young adult one. This is a wonderful book.
