Book Club Review…All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir

Until The Fight Salahudin and Noor were more than friends; they were family. Now, Sal is struggling with keeping his family's motel a float as his mother's health fails and his father loses himself to alcoholism. Meanwhile Noor is working at her uncle's liquor store and hiding the fact that she’s applying to college so she can escape him and Juniper forever.

Sal and Noor must ask themselves what friendship is worth and what it takes to defeat the monsters in their pasts and the ones in their midst.

This is an emotional and moving story about friendship, forgiveness and heartache. It's like taking a deep dive into a pool full of emotions. Grief, betrayal and forgiveness, loss, rage and you will feel every single one and more in this book.

No one from this book club was able to finish this book with dry eyes. There are so many topics that were brought up in the story and all were not easy to talk about. Death, drugs, prejudice and physical abuse. It was a powerful story that affected each of us in one own way. It's one that will stay with us for a long time.

The writing is absolutely wonderful! Sabaa Tahir is a fabulous storyteller. She has a way with words that touches each of her readers. The characters are complex and 100% real. We went in expecting a contemporary story about friendship and forgiveness but what we got was so much more.

Thank you The Book Club Cookbook and Sabaa Tahir for sharing this devastating but absolutely beautiful story with us!
