A story that broke my heart in the best way. Gut-wrenching and beautiful. I read somewhere that it took Author Sabaa Tahir 10 years to write this book?! Well, if that's so then surely I am beyond thankful that so much time and effort, and work was put into such a wonderful story filled with unforgettable characters. Misbah, Toufiq, Salahudin, and Noor....all broke my heart. I don't want to go into any details of the book because it is so complex that it just needs to be read to be felt. If you can handle the beautiful heartbreak please take a chance on this book.
Rich in culture, a duo timeline story of losses, loves, pain, and forgiveness within family. The writing style is so thoughtful and beautiful. Intense and important topics were discussed throughout. I have never read a Sabaa Tahir book before this but I am glad to have discovered her for myself and am excited to read many more by her in the future.
