As someone who comes from a South Asian immigrant family, I found this first impression to be very relatable. The misgivings of the main characters to come to America, the implied tension to occur between the first and second generations are accurate to my experiences with my parents. In many ways, this book reminds me of the works of Kiran Desai, and I would love to see how the story unfolds.
