Sabaa Tahir is definitely an author that I recognize and like. I've read half of her Ember in the Ashes series and enjoyed it. This time, Tahir is going from fantasy to more real life. It sounds like an interesting story. I know Tahir grew up with her family running a motel, so it's cool she's using her lived experience for this story. I'm excited for the rest of it. I enjoyed the synopsis and the First Look.
