This book was absolutely incredible, beautifully written, and well-paced, I’d highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in LGBTQIA+ history and experiences, as well as exploring the historical context of coming out.
Reading this book during pride month (June 2021, received as an Advanced Readers Copy) made the experience even more poignant and moving. I will definitely be re-reading this book and sharing it with all my friends, who just happen to be LGBTQIA+ themselves. I also think it would be beneficial to give to those who are not very knowledgable about this subject area, as it is extremely easy to empathise with Laura’s Father and his experiences.
Knocking off one star rating as there are times when it can be a little too detailed which messes with the pace, but other than that, I’d recommend you give it a read!
