Heartfelt Story of a Daughter with a Closeted Gay Dad

I loved this story of Laura, her parents and her siblings. She wrote very honestly and openly, about her struggles and understanding with having a gay father and finding that out after she was an adult. It seems as if she always knew something was really different about her dad, but it was shock to hear him say it, then everything fell into place. I can't imagine how her mom must have felt. To spend your life, loving someone, for so many years, when they can't love you back in the same way. What a wonderful woman, who would do anything for her family. This family really went through some things, Laura as a teen mom with several failed marriages under her belt and losing Susan. I also wondered, during the part about Susan, what happened to Caroline? She was mentioned throughout the whole book, but then it said she was married and we never heard of her again, not even when Susan died or the parents. Overall, I really enjoyed this story and it's nice that Ralph finally got his story told.
