This sounds like a beautiful but heartbreaking story. On the one hand, Laura's father Ralph seems like he has constant support of his family--his wife who stayed with him, his mother who supported him--but still felt the need to hide who he truly was. I'm also very curious to see how this secret impacts Laura and her relationships. While no one's family is perfect, she has to accept that what she believed was a happy, unified family, was actually full of secrets.
