I’ve heard a lot about this book, although I didn’t much know what it would be about. The preview reminds me of a fan fiction, the way it’s written. It also seems pretty dark-academia so far. From the preview, I have no idea where the plot is going. I’m so excited to keep reading!!
I was also a little confused by the narration style, however. It seemed to me that the character Devon’s narration sounded like that of a girl, although he was introduced as “Mr.” Devon. I suppose that is probably just the authors style.
I can also relate to Devon. I also excel at being invisible. I would be surprised if I won an award like them, because although people know me, I’m not popular. Continuing in Devon, I am a little hesitant that he is another “scholarship kid” like so many other characters in fiction. Obviously this happens in real life, but it seems to happen even more so in novels.
Hopefully I can continue reading this book! I would like to see where the plot goes!
