I thought I am picking up YA fun, maybe dramatic read, but this was so unexpected that I couldn't put I down.
The book is set in a private school that is so old, it gives you creepy academia chills. Lots of people compared it to the Gossip Girl, but with the murder being involved it reminded me of a Pretty Little Liars. Aces twist took me by surprise, did not expect that to happen. Characters are very well developed, their stories and lives are detailed but they don't drag. The flow of writing will keep you up at night, every chapter finishes on a note that makes you want to read more.
I liked how an author brings race discussion into the mix and leaves you thinking about it. Sexuality questions interline as well, they open the door into teenagers' thoughts on the topic.
It's definitely a very strong debut and I hope there will be more books to come. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a thriller that doesn't have excessive graphics.
