Get Out in a YA dark academia setting. Lots of trigger warnings for racism, homophobia, misogyny, and so on, but this was such a great, deep read and I loved it.

Synopsis: Chiamaka and Devon are the only two Black students at the prestigious Niveus Academy. They're starting their senior year - Chiamaka preparing for Yale and med school and Devon readying his audition tape for Juilliard - when all of a sudden their darkest secrets start being spread throughout the school by an anonymous "Aces". They can't figure out who to trust and who is out to get them, when it seems like it might be everyone.

This was so wonderfully dark and disturbing. It had great pacing, and I liked how it came together at the end. I had several moments where I thought I knew where things were going, and thought it was too simple, but it ended up pleasantly surprising me each time.

I didn't necessarily like the main characters at all times, but I did like seeing how they evolved throughout the book.

It manages to cover a lot of big themes -- racism, sexuality, violence, gaslighting, the penal system -- and do each of them justice. It's disturbing and really powerful.
