I was only granted a sneak peek of Ace of Spades and honestly I was let down. I had such high hopes. Maybe it was because I was only able to read the first few chapters but I wasn't captivated by the plot to much, though I plan to still read the full story when the book is released but I'm a little hesitant. I'm definitely interested and invested in what happens next! The premise is unique, but I thought the writing would be too. This is gonna be a page-turner, but I don't know if this will be a book I'd pause reading to highlight fav quotes. At first, it was hard to follow and read, but after a bit it got interesting, although, for me, a book HAS TO HAVE an amazing hook.

Good things about the book include-
-I already like Devon's character and I am definitely intrigued by Chiamaka's character.
-Devon and Chiamaka's voices are so distinct that it's as though they are narrating the events directly to me rather than through words on a screen

-The story takes place at Niveus Private Academy where we follow two characters Devon who is musically inclined and Chiamaka who is headstrong and unafraid. When they are ready for the start of a new school year an anonymous texter named Aces threatens to unveil their dark secrets.

-Writing style is unique
