Background character dragged into the light?
Devon seems to have been in the background of his school but is suddenly thrust into the spotlight when named a prefect by a new headmaster who sounds like a certain potions master prototype. All other prefects are what he considers to be main characters and THE protagonist of the school - Chiamaka. She seems to be the typical popular girl want wants the rest of the popular crowd to be most supported by the school.
More than anything Devon wants to be loved and accepted for who he is, but it seems like he's about to set up or outed.
Chiamaka on the other hand sees high school as a dog eat dog world where you either rule things or are sadly pathetic. However she's also uneasy about the new headmaster as he's not as fond of her as all the other teachers and staff.
