All true crime, and Ann Rule readers need to buy this book when it releases! Leslie, is Ann's daughter and she follows perfectly in her mother's footsteps with this book. I love that she writes a preface that gives background on their family and how they became fascinated with crime and murder.

The true crime story that Leslie writes in so crazy, that no one could even make a story that wild up! It's about a twisted love triangle and the all points of that triangle point back to one person. Three people; one of them missing, one obsessed, and one not knowing who or what to believe. Manipulation, lies, obsession,  and the internet are all intertwined and part of a murder.

Dave, was an average hard working man, willing to do anything for his kids. He was not one to be tied down, and often made that clear up front with any woman he dated. He met Amy, someone who fulfilled his needs and at times would seem clingy and wanting more. She'd push, he'd pull away and then they'd make up and things would be ok again. They had an on and off relationship that spanned months.

One day, Dave met Cari. She caught his eye and he felt something for once. They dated a few times, and then she broke up with him over text and he was disappointed. He felt he had found someone who was on the same playing field as him, and he did actually enjoy her company. It was what it was, and he still had Amy.

Not long after Cari broke up with him, he and Amy started getting threatening messages from Cari. Name calling, threats, and harassment. It was bizarre and both became closer as they were both targets of Cari. Who was this crazy person that Dave had invited into his, and now Amy's life? Was she really crazier than she came off. It seemed she was not happy about him and Amy, and she became a crazed stalker in their lives.

Cari's mom had also received some text messages, and they were very unlike her daughter. She became concerned and soon filed a missing person's report for her. Her daughter did not talk this way, even through text and it was completely out of character of her to do the things she was doing through text message.

Who really was this Cari person, and why was she targeting Dave and Amy? Cari and Dave had only really known each other for a couple of weeks, so why the stalking? Dave didn't ever get the feeling she was one of those. Meanwhile, her mother is worried something happened to her daughter and is trying to stay strong from the son she left behind.

Each page of this story will make you second guess what is happening, who is doing it and the truth behind it all. Just when you think something might come of this all with the police being involved, another bizarre incident happens or another person is targeted. This was a very well written book, and the author did an amazing job of getting background on everything, as well as keeping the story line straight. As the title states, there are MANY MANY webs that are weaved.

Thank you to the author, Leslie Rule! Bookish first, and the publisher Citadel Press - Kensington Publishing Corp for the opportunity to read and review. I did not want to put this down, and I swear there were times I was reading it in Keith Morrisons voice! Now I have to go dig up the Dateline episode on this case.
