Psychological thrillers are my jam. Add to a good psychological thriller the fact that it is true crime, and I am all in every time -- especially if it is by an author with some serious true crime roots (hello -- "The Stranger Beside Me"....yikes!). Ann Rule has one of the craziest stories of all time in "The Stranger....," so when I saw that her daughter Leslie had penned a true crime story herself, I was here for it.
"A Tangled Web" is one of those great stories that reads like fiction, but is too crazy to be a figment of someone's imagination. It is creepy and chilling and haunting and all of the things that make a work of narrative nonfiction like this memorable for long after the final page is turned.
A must-read for those who love crime dramas!
