I found the author's preface interesting. I had not realized she is Ann Rule's daughter. The analogy of a spider's web and the World Wide Web in the Introduction was well-written.

I have never read a true crime book. I didn't know what to expect for the writing style. I figured there would be less setting-development and perhaps less character-development, and I didn't know how I would feel about it.

Overall, the writer does a good job of engaging the reader with the backgrounds of the people involved in the case. It is clear that she has interviewed them in order to portray an accurate account. I would be really interested to read about this, since online dating is something that I had dabbled in for a few years and I've heard some horror stories, but nothing on this level! I am not familiar with this case at all.
