I have been excited for A Spy In The Struggle for a while now, and the story did not disappoint. The author crafted a novel that includes several social justice themes while maintaining an easy-to-read story narrative that keeps the plot moving forward.
Yolanda is a likeable character from the first page, as she thinks on her feet, adapts, and shows her strong character traits by doing what she considers to be the right thing, though it costs her job, and thrusts her into new, unknown territory. She is a boss throughout the story.
Aya de Leon's writing style is strong. I felt that the writing was a bit brisk in some places, reading more like a snappy screenplay. Personally, I thought it was a good choice for the genre.
Also on the topic of genre, I think that the romance was appropriate and written well.
The cover is simply gorgeous. I appreciate mixed media feel of the artwork style, mixing elements of watercolors and chalk pastels.
