Yolanda is a great character. I found her fascinating and I loved the look-backs on her relationship with her mother. The storyline felt very “today” which is a great thing, and for the most part it kept me intrigued. In just the first couple paragraphs I was hooked, though the pacing did lag a few times in the middle and near the end. Overall, I found Yolanda’s struggle between doing what the FBI wanted and her blooming relationship with those in the youth activist committee she was undercover in to be a wonderful story to read. While there could have been a little more action and some humor thrown in, it was still a read I would recommend to others. I always enjoy when the protagonist of a story is someone who isn’t your typical upper middle class white person, as we need so much more representation in stories. Everyone should take a read of this book, because you may find something you like.
