This book was super interesting! It seems like it was a major change of tone for the author, so kudos to her for managing this switch so well. This book was well-written, super easy to fly through, and kept me interested the entire way through. The cover is absolutely lovely, too. Will preach forever about how I love this trend of illustrated book covers.
While this book was nowhere near bad, I also don't think it's going to stay with me for long after I've read it. It was pretty straightforward, and while I think the author was going for some twists and turns, none of them really got to me. There were also some parts that were confusing to me. For example, this book included talks of COVID in the beginning. It's the first book I've read that has mentioned COVID, and I think it might have been added later in revisions, since it was mentioned in the beginning and then completely dropped for the rest of the novel.
