This book was a fabulous read! Part mystery, part romance, it really catered to all tastes in a fiction novel.
Yolanda is a lawyer, turned FBI agent,sent undercover to infiltrate an eco terrorist group that has set up shop in Yolanda’s former boarding school town. She’s chosen for the assignment since she’s young and Black, and will have an easier time fitting in with the youth if this group.
I loved Yolanda, and her strong personality, but also her hidden emotional vulnerabilities. She meets and falls for a fellow member of this group, and you can really see the human side of Yolanda in these interactions. Her backstory is also heartbreaking, and her rise to success had me cheering!
I have never read a book by this author and I am so happy I did! I gave this a solid four stars, and would happily read another offering (maybe a sequel???) by this author in the future.
