Bring it on!
Let me preface this review by saying what things made me start reading it. First, I think because I am in law school, I've become more drawn to protagonists who are lawyers (you have no idea how many I've read lately with lawyers). But above all that, I picked it up because Yolanda seems like such a strong character.
I was not wrong. Yolanda was such a vivid character. I absolutely loved her character development. We already know how smart and hardworking she must be with her background in Harvard Law and her employment at a prestigious law firm, but Yolanda still doesn't know her place in the world. I loved going on an adventure with her to making her more empowered. I think that the characters were so well written and the plot so amazingly planned, that it made for a great read that I didn't regret in the slightest. Sign me up for another of Aya de Leon's books!
