This excerpt has me so curious to read the rest of this story. The basic premise of the book is already super interesting. Who doesn't want to read about an ex-corporate lawyer turned FBI agent going undercover to investigate an environmental activist group? On top of that, we get added in layers of BIPOC struggles in gentrified communities, the story of a black woman navigating fields dominated by mostly white men, and so much more. I said it in another first impression, but it's so refreshing to see marginalized authors represented on Bookish First.
