Millie Sullivan is running out of options. She's working two jobs, living on pennies, and needs to find a new senior living facility for her Grandma Joy, who has dementia, in just a few weeks. When Joy tells Millie about her great grandmother's diary from her stay at a prominent Georgia estate during the summer of 1929 that contains a treasure map, she goes to find the diary in the estate library. When Ben Thornton finds her there and threatens to turn her in, Millie asks him to help her find the treasure in exchange for half of their findings. What follows will teach both Millie and Ben about family, faith in God, life, and their growing love for each other.
I enjoyed this book very much. There was just the right amount of mystery, suspense, romance, and history sprinkled throughout the book that all of those elements seemed like the perfect combination and kept me on the edge of my seat until I finished reading. The writing was descriptive, the characters were engaging, and the split time storylines were well done and intriguing. This book was easily one of the best Christian fiction books I've read so far this year, and I will definitely be reading more from this author. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an encouraging, exciting story with valuable lessons and clean content.
