I admit when I first read the synopsis I was just okay with the way this book seemed.
However, I was pulled in from the start. I couldn't put it down. The characters are so well detailed that you feel you have become them are seeing the hint for this 'treasure' yourself. Most importantly you are rooting for them as well as wanting to learn not only about the history & the mystery of the diaries, but you simply can't help but want the right thing to be done for people not only in the present, but also the lives you see I the diaries. The secrets & even lies told make the mystery plot for the treatment not what you think. The twist was not predictable but totally made sense when the pieces were put together.
