This book gives readers a bit of suspense, mystery, of course historical information, and a bit of romance as well. It was an easy, light read that moved between times but didn't lose the reader along the way.
The story takes place in two time periods, current day and 90 years ago. In current times, Millie is visiting her grandmother, who has dementia, and is having a tough time gathering information from her due to her condition. She continues, however, to investigate and find information about her family's history--I enjoyed this part of the book a lot. Millie is working at the estate her great grandmother once stayed at and her grandmother hints that there is a hidden treasure within the estate (which is magical on it's own!). The part of the story that takes place in the past is wonderful--the setting is really well done.
I really enjoyed reading this and hope to read more by this author.
