I feel like I learned more about the book from the description than the excerpt. I was definitely excited to read the excerpt but it’s only a few pages and doesn’t establish much of the story.
Millie’s grandma is in a nursing home and she needs more specialized care. But Millie is barely able to afford her current nursing home and has no idea how to make extra money.
But her grandma lets something vague slip out and Millie learns that her grandmother never knew her real father. Given the circumstances, there’s a chance he was very wealthy.
We also briefly touch on another character who is trying to make amends his mother’s actions.
