This excerpt drew me right in from the very first page. We start out with Millie, whose grandmother--the woman who raised her--is in an assisted living home (one Millie can barely afford to keep her in, and it's not that wonderful of a facility). Her grandmother is getting worse, though--she doesn't recognize Millie when she comes in, and doesn't know who Millie's father (her son) is either--and the facility informs her that she can no longer stay there due to her mental decline. Millie has 90 days to move her elsewhere, but where? And how will she pay for it? But then her grandmother lets slip a secret, one that might change everything...
