When emerging oneself into a new fantasy world there is nothing as refreshing as having it be easily understood, fast paced and original. A River of Royal Blood by Amanda Joy is a highly enjoyable and YA fantasy novel that leaves you wanting more. You think you have figured out what is going to happen and then things start to change. Within the book you will find so much, major sister tension, family problems for that matter, magic, race problems. I think Joy does a great job of introducing us to the world, it's history, the characters and laying out the problems. I found myself completely drawn in and wanting more.
The biggest problem I have with the book is the cover. It honestly did nothing for me and really does not make me want to pick up the book. Other than that, when does the next one come out!!!
