This book was everything I could have hoped for and more. In order to become the Queen of Myre, sisters Evalina and Isadora must kill the other to claim her spot on the throne. The magick system was interesting -- humans inherited magick from the gey and then began to take over the kingdom. There are many kinds of magick, the rarest being magic of the blood and marrow (which Eva has but cannot access). Her search for magick becomes desperate as she gets closer to her 17th birthday. She goes on an adventure out of the palace that takes us into the wonderful world Amanda Joy has built for us. The kingdom this book was set in was beautiful and filled with lush descriptions of fantastic creatures and interesting mythology. The writing is beautiful and it was easy to get absorbed in this book. I was hooked from the first page!
