After seeing the beautiful cover and reading the first couple chapters, I knew this would be a great read. The author does a fantastic job of describing the settings and transporting you to the world of Myre. The relationship between Eva and Isa is believable and heartbreaking. In order to become queen one has to kill the other. This obviously puts a wedge in their relationship. I really felt for the struggles Eva had to go through in relation to her sister and how to survive her ordeal. The magic element was done very well and played a big part in the story. Overall, I really enjoyed this first installment and plan to read the next.
