I had to DNF this book at around 10%. I tried listening to it on Audible. It could be that the audio format just didn't work for me for this book. I felt like I needed more explanation of the races. I felt like I was just thrown in and I didn't understand anything. With a physical copy book, I can deal with that, but I can't do that with an audiobook. I know my attention will wander.
As far as the synopsis of this book goes, I'm all in. I loved Children of Blood and Bone and anything recommended for that group is sure to hit me. I'll come back to this book when I have a print copy in my hands and the time to go back and reread what I need to in order to understand. Maybe it'll have an appendix of terms in the back. If not, I'll go to the internet and see what more I can find.
