Normally I dislike fantasy, but straight from the get go there was something unique about 'A River of Royal Blood'. The premise might've been similar to other novels, but it's taken in a direction that's refreshing and new. The world building might've been overwhelming in any other story, but it's handled in a way that we quickly digest the context without being overloaded with information. With every new fact leaving me intrigued and wanting to know more, I can't wait to see what the full book is like. The hints about Isa and Eva's relationships, only fueled my desire to keep on reading, if only to find out why.

The art style is beautiful, but the font for the cover feels a little overused when it comes to fantasy novels. The clear contrast of blue and red between the sisters drew my attention immediately.
