M.T. Edvardsson's novel A Nearly Normal Family is a suspenseful legal thriller/family drama that kept my attention throughout. There's a lot going on in this piece with changing perspectives that both clarify and muddle the actual murder at the middle of this story.

Eighteen year old Stella's proximity to a murder gets confusing real fast as we switch between the voices of her pastor father and attorney mother. It's interesting to experience the ways that we rationalize and make excuses for those we love no matter the evidence or consequences that come from it. I found myself in love with the way that the author was able to embody the characters and give truly unique voices to both the mother and the father.
