I found this to be a book that I could not put down. Now it’s not an action packed, edge of your seat thriller. But it has a slow but that keeps you obsessed with it. It is told through three different parts and perspectives: father, daughter, mother. It was neat to see overlap, but also a continuing timeline throughout the different perspectives. The writing did seem a little stiff at times, but a think a lot of that comes with the translation of text. There are some triggers with murder, assault, rape.

But I found the story to be predictable, but also in ways not very predictable at all. You needed to learn more about Stella and Amina. You wanted to see how Adam and Ulrika’s differing parenting styles played into the whole plot. I really enjoyed this. I found it being very psychological and dealing with truth through different people and perspectives as well as the lengths people will go to protect their family and those they love.
