This year's Book of the Month Club thrillers have been reliably good so far this year, so I really didn't think twice about choosing this one and I am glad that I did! This is an addictive read, split into thirds - starting from the perspective of the father, then daughter and finally the mother. Each narrative revolves around the daughter's legal difficulties when she is arrested for murder.
It is really interesting to see scenes from all three perspectives - where they differ and where they line up to match. It is a really hard book to put down, as I really just wanted to know what had actually happened! Plus, this look into the Swedish legal system is fascinating in its own right.
I think this book will be a real discussion starter! The choices these interesting characters make - particularly the mother and father - certainly will incite lively talks! I really enjoyed this and am glad that it was a selection! It's an interesting and smoothly translated novel!
