First things first, I was seriously hyped up about this book. This book did not disappoint, i knew i liked the concept of the story but after finishing it, i realized that there was so much more behind the story than what you get at surface level. There are so many layers beyond the main synopsis of this book.

A Nearly Normal Family is broken down into three parts, each part is written from the perspective of one of the family members. You are given limited information about these characters, not even so much as a physical description, rather you learn them as you read and get into their heads. This was amazing for me, because you are not being led to believe any one specific outcome of this story.

I often feel that with a lot of mystery and thriller books you have to build up to the suspense, “get through the first half of the book then it really picks up” is what i find myself telling people. Not the case, you are thrown into the crime and the anguish right from the beginning.

There is so much i want to say about this story but i am going to cut it off here because i really don’t want to say too much. Just know that i walked away from this book realizing that things are not always as they seem, and sometimes the book is about more than what the jacket sleeve tells you it will be about.
