I really enjoyed the way this book was written. It starts out with Stella’s dad in court ready to testify. We soon find out 18-year-old Stella is being charged for murdering a man almost twice her age. This novel is split in three sections: the father’s POV first, then the daughter’s POV, and finally the mother’s POV. Each POV gave you just enough info to keep going and told a little history and then switched back to the present in short, quick chapters.

Even though I pretty much understood who killed Chris and who was hiding secrets, I still enjoyed the journey to get to the full story. Everything tied up nicely at the end. I have to admit that I was not a fan of Stella until I read more of her story. She did things to get a rise out of others and was kind of cruel at times- she was a teenager though. She grew on me a little more as her character developed throughout the book. In fact, all the characters have their quirks that make them not as “normal” as they might look like on the outside.
