Review “But I underestimated the significance of family. People are prepared to put aside everything in the way of ethics and morals to protect their families. The most rigid of principles can easily be pulverized when it comes to defending your own child. Lies, guilt, and secrets. What family isn’t built on such grounds?”

Synopsis: A Nearly Normal Family is a legal thriller that follows the murder trial of a man killed in an otherwise sleepy town. Stella, the 18 year old daughter of a priest and a criminal attorney stands accused of the murder. As details come out about Stella’s past and her connection to the victim her parents and all they stand for are shaken to the core.

Review: I love a book that takes place in a courtroom. The quick dialogue and the descriptions of the tension in the room always outs me on edge in the best way possible. The author did an amazing job of telling a seamless story from different perspectives with plenty of overlap without being repetitive. The book has a way of shifting perspectives right at the pivotal moment that will have you glued to your seat. I highly recommend this to lovers of legal/courtroom thrillers as well as family drama books!
