I absolutely love this debut novel. I read this when it was offered as a pick for BOTM in 2019 and I still 100% stand by and recommend this book. I loved the legal aspect including the in depth courtroom scenes. I think this book is written beautifully and the way it is split into three separate parts is unique. It provides the reader with a different perspective to help unravel the mystery of what happened that night. Following the dad, mom, and Stella offers insight into their characters and relationships in a way that really strengthens this book and made it impossible to put down. I was incredibly wrapped up in this story to the point I didn’t want it to end. When it did, I was shocked by the ending. A heart breaking but beautiful story that everyone should read.
