A Nearly Normal Family is a clever legal thriller that kept me guessing until the last two pages. All of my expectations were wrong, which was the best ending one can get in a thriller. The book is written in an unusual three part style, which works well at keeping the anticipation building. The main characters are likeable, believable and felt real. The teenage daughter, Stella, ends up being accused of a brutal murder. You can see how she is a typical teen, with a retail job and a secret life her parents know nothing about. She's accused of killing a man fifteen years older than her. Her parents, a pastor and a defense attorney, are left wondering how their daughter and her best friend know this man. A Nearly Normal Family makes you think about how well you know your family. Then, how far would you go to protect them? Definitely a must read.
