Like the summary says, this is a book about what one would do for their family. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the writing style. You go through multiple points of view; Stella, her father, and her mother. You get a little deeper into the family with each point of view.

This book kept me interested and guessing all the way through. I was curious about how it would all come together. Some would say this book is a "slow burn", especially the father's section. While his point of view does move a little slower I felt like we were given a detailed background of how he saw his life and how all that is happening with his life is causing him to basically unravel. I think the slow burn of this unraveling is perfect. Think of it as a really hot slow burn.

If you like family dysfunction, crime mysteries, and courtroom views, you should give this book a try.
