A NEARLY NORMAL FAMILY begins when Stella - an eighteen-year-old girl - is accused of murdering a thirty-two-year-old man.

Stella's family is a typical perfect family: the father is a pastor and the mother is a criminal defense attorney. I loved the premise of this book and it didn't let me down.

Told through three perspectives, the author allows us a deep look into the characters inner thoughts and keeps us guessing their true motives behind the actual facts. While there were some slow parts in the plot essential to build up the story and develop the characters, this book overall was a fast-paced one. I enjoyed the dynamics and the writing was easy to follow.

This book approaches theme such as family dynamic, (family) love, friendship and social appearance. I particularly loved knowing more about the law and courtroom process. Finally, the twists and turns were completely absorbing.

This is a unique legal thriller that I highly recommend.
