A legal thriller about a family where the daughter is facing a murder charge, this was a slow burn, and for me, it took a little too long to get to the good stuff. It does a good job of trickling out the information you need to solve the mystery of the murder, though it does keep you guessing, as the facts of the case are colored by the different points of view.
This method did make it feel repetitive, though, and the style was kind of dry.
The family dynamics are what really make this book interesting. You really get into each of their heads and see how their thinking works as everything unfolds. Unfortunately I found them unlikable and never really felt connected to any of them.
So, in conclusion, intriguing mystery, excellent revealing of the details as the story progressed, but I never felt emotionally involved.
