3.5 stars for A Nearly Normal Family.

I don't think I would consider this a thriller as much as a slow-burn suspenseful drama. This book is divided into three parts, each party is a different character's POV in the family. Through this formatting, we get to go into the mind of the mom, dad and daughter and piece together what happened during those hours that their daughter was initially missing.

I found that this book was more about discovering what lengths you will go to to protect the people you love including compromising your own standards of what is ethical and/or morally right. This book explores the relationship between each parent and their daughter as well as their daughter's friendship with her best friend. Yes, there has been a murder but the book starts out with who was murdered and a strong inclination of who is presumed to have done it - so this book is more about the motivation behind the incident.

I enjoyed this and was captured pretty quickly by the storyline. I think it did a good job of keeping pace. I did read it in a day, but I don't know that I'd call it a page-turner per se.

This was a great legal thriller and felt similar to Miracle Creek in terms of style, content and pacing
