Adam is a pastor in a Swedish town. He is married to Ulrika, and they are parents to Stella, who just turned 18. The story opens in a courtroom where Stella is standing accused of murder. We quickly flashback to Stella's 18th birthday and glimpses of Adam and Ulrika's life. Adam is thoughtful about what he remembers and I have a feeling his memories are building a story about Stella and what she might or might not be capable of. I am curious to see how the story plays out and how the characters interact and get through the murder investigation.
