i’m really disappointed with this book. it was on my list of 2022 anticipated reads but it did not do it for me.

first of all, there was no chemistry between the mc and the love interest. like none. and they also fell in love right when they met each other??? she meets him and is immediately like “he’s so different from everyone else, he actually notices me.” it seems like she just wants to be recognized because her sister is usually the one that gets all of the guy’s attention.

second, i didn’t feel any connection to the characters. i just wasn’t interested in them.

and lastly, i feel like the pacing was all over the place. however, most of the time i was incredibly bored and uninterested.

with that being said, the writing is pretty good for a debut novel and the whole magic tea system was cool as well.

oh yeah, i also found that this book was very similar to the spin the dawn duology by elizabeth lim. if you’d like to read a magical duology, i definitely recommend that duology over this one.

anyways, i hope someone else can enjoy this book more than i did. :)
