Ms Mccreight really gets you hooked from the beginning telling the stories of everyone that is connected to Zach and Amanda. How Lizzie has to go back in time to connect the dots from Zach's life even her own because somehow it intersects even her own though she learns this closer to the end of the book which makes her realize her own mistakes with her life and job. I loved all the layers how you got to realize the truth of Amanda life that was so empty except for her child with a marriage for safety because she blotted out that part of her childhood where she killed her father after he killed her best friend. The journals showed her having conversations with her best friend and being trailed by her father in the present day.
