Slow burn thriller
I was so excited for this one and have to say was a bit disappointed. I was a bit lost in the frequently used legal jargon, the characters were not too likable, an unreliable main character, and took way too long to get to the twist. Once I got to the twist, it was good. Not an amazing twist to make up for the rest of it, I definitely could have partially predicted the twist. However, I was entertained, it was a fast read, and I didn’t put it down, so that means something! I would not jump to recommend it, but I wouldn’t tell someone not to read it. I would read more from the author after. I think the cover is great too. Also, as someone who lives in NYC, I thought that the setting was fun.
