I read this book in one sitting! The first few chapters had me hooked and I just could not put it down. This book is full of plot twists, dark secrets, and cliff hangers.

Flipping between Lizzie and Amanda's point of view - Amanda is murdered after a local party in her idyllic Park Slope neighborhood, the main suspect is her husband Zach. Lizzie left her underpaid job as prosecutor to become a lawyer after an incident with her husband left them needing money. Lizzie and Zach had attended college together and have a past to unravel there, he called on her to defend him in this case.

Most mysteries can be figured out by reading between the lines but just when you think you've figured it out McCreight throws in another plot twist and you're back to square one. She does a fantastic job portraying that not everything is what it seems. Even in a neighborhood as nice as Park Slope where everyone's life seems perfect, everyone has their secrets. It was thrilling to follow as Lizzie unraveled everyone's secrets.
