I enjoyed this book so much, especially since it is one of my favorite genres, domestic thriller! There were so many twists and turns I was kept on the edge of my seat from page one. This book definitely has Big Little Lies vibes, so if you enjoyed that book, tune in to this one!

The Story: I enjoyed this story. There were so many twists and turns, it was impossible to ever get bored. I am always a fan of a “whodunnit” book, and this one had so many different suspects! I was constantly changing my thoughts about what must have taken place. The story also contained a lot of legal aspects to it, creating a unique twist to it! I enjoyed the legal stuff that was included because it wasn’t over the top of boring in any way. It was just the perfect amount. The story was great and definitely easy to follow along.

The Flow: I thought the flow of the book was great! It was a fast-paced book and I wasn’t able to put it down, reading it in just a few short days. Every once in awhile, though, it would jump to a flashback and I would be a bit surprised, but it was easy to get myself back on track!

The Characters: Kimberly McCreight did an incredible job of creating unique characters with distinct personalities. I really felt like I was getting to know the characters and could almost sense what they were thinking in a given situation. The characters of Lizzie and Amanda were both developed really well and I enjoyed getting to know them.

The Writing: The story was told using both Lizzie and Amanda’s point of views. It also included occasional trial transcripts and copies of emails that pertain to the story, which I’m a huge fan of. I love when a book includes extras like that as it makes it seem a little more real. I enjoyed Kimberly’s writing and did not have any issues with it.

Overall, I thought this was a well-written thriller with so many different twists and turns. I was constantly trying to guess what was going on, but of course, never had the right idea!

*Thank you to Harper Publishing and Kimberly McCreight for a finished copy of this book in exchange for my honest review*
